Five 99s in MLB The Show 26 Multiplayer 9 U4GM

In MLB The Show 26, Multiplayer 9 rewards depend on program XP, not on how many MLB 26 stubs you have available. That distinction matters when planning a lineup: the five 99-overall player cards come from the online reward track, with George Brett waiting at 120,000 XP. The program runs from October 27 through December 1, so the time available for eligible games is part of the decision.
Set a target before committing to the full track
The first four player rewards arrive at 10,000 XP for Awards Hank Greenberg, 35,000 for Negro Leagues Pete Hill, 60,000 for Negro Leagues Josh Gibson and 85,000 for Milestone Garrett Crochet. Brett follows after a further 35,000 XP. If one of those earlier cards fills a lineup need, you can set that milestone as your initial target instead of assuming you need to finish the entire program.
Brett is not the end of the track. At 130,000 XP, the reward is 3,000 Stubs; at 140,000, it's a Ranked World Series Rewind pack; and at 150,000, it's 50 The Show Packs. Those later rewards may be worth pursuing if you want the packs, but they aren't required to get Brett.
Choose eligible games that fit your goals
Standard mission progress and the repeatable Parallel XP task count in five online modes: 1 vs 1 Ranked, Ranked Co-op, Battle Royale, Events and Weekend Classic. Games outside those modes don't count toward those tasks. Check your selected mode before a session, especially if you're switching between online play and other activities.
The standard missions cover total bases, strikeouts, home runs and runs scored. Their checkpoints award 125,000 program XP in total, enough to reach Brett without bonus awards. Total bases contribute 50,000 XP, strikeouts 30,000, home runs 25,000 and runs scored 20,000. That's a useful planning baseline, although it requires completing every standard checkpoint.
Use overlapping objectives without relying on one stat
Offensive progress can work on several missions at once. A home run adds one home run, four total bases and at least one run scored, while strikeouts contribute to a separate pitching objective. Keep all four categories in mind when reviewing progress rather than judging a session solely by its home run count.
Eligible games also contribute to a repeatable award of 5,000 program XP for every 15,000 Parallel XP earned. Four one-time Wheel Bonus missions offer 30,000 XP each for reaching 600 total bases, 200 strikeouts, 50 home runs or 200 runs. Battle Royale has three additional missions worth 20,000 XP combined; its five-win objective must be completed in one entry, so wins from separate entries won't satisfy that requirement.
Pick rewards for the positions you need
Gibson gives players looking for a catcher a card with 125 Power against right-handed pitchers, 118 Power against lefties and 77 Speed. He can also play first base, third base and all three outfield positions. That flexibility makes his 60,000 XP milestone relevant even if catcher is already covered.
Brett is a different kind of target: he has 125 Contact against both sides, along with 125 Vision and Clutch, and first base is his secondary position. The update also refreshed Ranked Seasons, whose World Series Choice Pack offers 99-overall 2026 Finest Bryce Harper and Byron Buxton. Harper has 125 Clutch, while Buxton is the center-field choice for players prioritizing defense and speed.
Before the December 1 expiration, check your remaining mission totals and decide whether your next session is aimed at a player milestone or the packs beyond Brett. Keep any plan for MLB stubs separate from that XP target, since the program rewards require progress in the eligible modes. Unclaimed rewards won't remain earnable through Multiplayer 9 after it expires.
